3 cool new camping items from the Outdoor Retailer Summer 2022 show
As the first day of the Outdoor Retailer Summer 2022 show continues to gain momentum, brands are bringing their A-game to the showroom floor. While flashy, larger-than-life items like Happier Camper’s new trailers might grab everyone’s attention, there are a few camping accessories from our favorite brands that deserve a shout-out.
Here’s what caught our eye at OR Summer 2022 so far.
Light Dometic GLO–A500
The first is the GLO-A500, Dometic’s new multi-use rechargeable camping light. At less than $100, the light has the ability to charge an iPhone and light up your camp. It can cycle through a variety of colors, but the most attractive color is orange: after all, the orange light is a bug-kill mode, which repels bugs and other arthropods while you’re camping.
In addition to color changing options, the light also has intensity changing options. And in the spirit of utility, the lower plastic part of the light detaches to reveal a small container that can be used to store small items like charging cords, headlamps or earplugs, for n to name a few.
Cube Chillback Camelbak
Camelbak’s new soft cooler is an 18 liter shoulder carry option that also comes with a three liter reservoir built into the back, for group hydration. Launching in Spring 2023, the Chillback Cube will retail for $275 and features ripstop fabric, a padded carry strap and an internal Velcro divider that keeps dry food out of water and ice. In other words, there will be no more crying over soggy cheese.
Wool Aid Merino Bandages
If you’re trying to reduce the amount of plastic you use in your life and heal your wounds faster, you’re in luck: Wool Aid makes super breathable, biodegradable, 100% wool merino wool bandages. no plastic or latex in the soft, sticky dressings.
