A psychic meets his match (and gives it a “full read”)
Matt Fraser knew he would marry Alexa Papigiotis the moment he saw her at a Rhode Island cafe. But no, not because he’s a medium.
“Growing up, my mom always said to me, ‘When you meet someone, you know that,’” said Fraser. When Ms Papigiotis sailed the Coffee Connection in her hometown of North Providence on January 17, 2017, Mr Fraser, who also responds to ‘America’s Best Psychic Medium’, realized his mother was right.
Mr Fraser, 30, and Ms Papigiotis, 23, met on Instagram a few days earlier. Her photo appeared in her feed. At first he passed her. But then he rushed over to see his photo again. “I thought, ‘Who is this? ” “, he said. “And then I saw that she was following me back, and that she was Miss Rhode Island Teen USA. I was like, ‘Oh my god, how cool is that?’ ”
He texted her, without skimping on flattery: “I said, ‘I didn’t know I was being followed by an Instagram star. “Let me take you for coffee.
On the date, Ms Papigiotis, then a waitress and contestant and now a freelance fashion designer, asked what she called silly questions about being a clairvoyant. “I thought to myself, ‘How does that work? ‘Do you see anyone behind me?’
He did, in fact. Mrs Papigiotis had recently lost her grandmother. “He started giving me a full read right over there over coffee,” she said.
But instead of a thrill, his contact with his grandmother gave him anxiety. Before he was done, she abruptly left the table. “She went out and I thought she wouldn’t be coming back,” Fraser said.
Mrs. Papigiotis just needed some fresh air. By the time she left Coffee Connection, she was ready to say yes to a second date, although Mr. Fraser did not ask for one. “I was like, ‘I can’t let her know I love her,'” he said. “You have to play the game.”

In two days, however, the game was over. Mr Fraser invited Ms Papigiotis to dinner at Antonio’s Italian restaurant in his hometown of Cranston, where they got their first clues of what has become of extreme compatibility. “We have exactly the same tastes and values,” said Fraser. “We are talking the same thing, we are thinking the same thoughts. We even look a bit alike.
Ms Papigiotis moved in with Mr Fraser to Cranston and his vacation home in West Palm Beach, Fla. In late 2017. Both began to hear the wedding bells.
On May 13, 2019, Mr. Fraser found the right time to ask the question. Ms. Papigiotis had completed her last contest, winning the title of Miss Congeniality in the 2017 Miss Teen USA contest. “Meet the Frasers” a reality show starring Mr Fraser and Ms Papigiotis, along with their extended families, had also started filming at this point, before a premiere in 2020.
At the Eau Palm Beach complex in Manalapan, Florida, he rented the ballroom and had it fitted with a table for two with champagne. As the “Meet the Frasers” crew moved in to film the event, he choked. “I started to cry as soon as we sat down,” he said. “I couldn’t even understand the words.” By the time he succeeded, Ms Papigiotis was also in tears. “I said, ‘Yes, yes, yes!’ “, did she say.
On October 9, Mr. Fraser and Mrs. Papigiotis were married in front of 93 guests vaccinated at the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum in Palm Beach by their friend Trisha Armstrong, who was ordained by the Universal Life Church for the occasion. They knew the day would be a success before they said their “I do”.
The week before the wedding, “I said to Matt, ‘Use your abilities. Ask my Grammy if we’re okay, ”Ms. Papigiotis said. “Since then we have received wonderful messages from the other side,” said Fraser.
