Disney Vacation Club Moonlight Magic – Membership Has Its Privileges

For many years, Disney Vacation Club had “Disney’s Best Kept Secret” – but that time has come and gone. Now, if you don’t know what DVC is, you haven’t been to a Disney park in way too many years. Just to cover all the bases, if you are unfamiliar with Disney Vacation Club, you can check out their site before we go any further and for those of you who are, this is not a pitch for signing up, but an overview of one of the many benefits of membership. We were invited to the last of the three nights of the EPCO Moonlight Magic event to join the party.

Throughout a normal year, DVC will hold Moonlight Magic events at various parks in Walt Disney World including Typhoon Lagoon in the past, only members and their guests could attend. For this event, members pre-registered (limited space available) and were invited into the park in the early evening to spend the rest of the day enjoying EPCOT’s International Flower and Garden Festival before the big entertainment booked. to members.

The guests each received three Delectable Delight coupons that can be used for a variety of sweet and savory snacks at multiple locations throughout the park including one that could be redeemed for the exclusive Membership Magic popcorn bucket. This is a great bonus because not only could the vouchers be used to sample some of the amazing items available during the festival, but the popcorn bucket is the one that is refillable during regular visits for a small fee.

Of course, the real fun of the event began once the regular park guests had left and many of the attractions, including Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, were open to event members only. Now, as Disney Vacation Club members, most guests have visited all the attractions because they can stay in the magic, so for these guests, the real excitement of Moonlight Magic is the characters. For the EPCOT event, the bad guys came to play, including some I hadn’t seen in many years!

In all, we got to see 15 different characters while enjoying an exclusive soundtrack by some of the Disney property’s top DJs… Oh, and did I mention all the Mickey Premium ice cream bars we could eat? It was not my first Moonlight Magic and it will certainly not be the last because it is a real pleasure.
