Sex Offender Raped Teenage Girl Sent To Motel For Babysitting, Court Records Show | Crime and courts
CROWN POINT – A Lake Station man who had previously been convicted of sexual abuse was wanted on Tuesday on charges of repeatedly raping a teenage girl after persuading the girl’s parent to allow her to babysit.
Bradley W. Franchville, 28, is accused of sexually assaulting the girl on multiple occasions between May and October 2019 in a Merrillville motel room. The girl was between 14 and 15, according to Lake Criminal Court records.
He is charged with one count of rape and two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor.
The girl told investigators Franchville had claimed he would work while she watched over her children, but he never worked, according to court documents.
The girl alleged that Franchville picked her up from school once and took her back to the motel room. After his wife left for work, he placed his three children in a bathtub and left them alone while he raped the girl on a bed, according to court records.
The young girl told the police she started screaming and Franchville said, “If you love me then you will let me finish.”
Franchville was charged with making a similar statement when he sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl in May 2013 in Porter County, the Times previously reported.
In his previous case, Franchville had been sentenced to three years in prison, half of which was suspended in favor of probation. He was also ordered to complete the treatment of sex offenders.
